Food is absolutely fantastic. One of my favorite places to eat in the county. Then wait can be sort of hit and miss, but it's never too long. The ambiance is fun and warm. It's a must-try!

Our favorite little mom and pop local Cafe. It's popular with the locals and can get pretty busy, but the service is really good. The restaurant features European cottage core decor which is comforting and homey. Patio seating, a bar and some booths are available. The service is outstanding every time. They really take care of you. Great food, I really love the Crab Cake Benedict. The hollandaise is delightful and the crab cake is cooked to a perfect crisp and topped with a poached egg. The house breakfast potatoes are great with it. The goulash is also really good, featuring stewed beef in a rich brown gravy with veggies. The Perfect Burger is my husband's favorite. Favorite crepes are the lemon crepes! We usually order an entree and share the lemon crepes for dessert. We love it!

Y U M M Y Really can't say enough about this great place. Wish it wasn't so far from home. The service was impeccable. The food over the top.

Every community has a place where local folks go to for good eats and down home hospitality. Well CT European Cafe fits that bill. It's a cozy family ran cafe in Shingle Springs, CA. It's right off Highway 50, exit Ponderosa Road. They serve up comfort with an American and European flair. Crepes (sweet or savory), eggs benedict, American breakfast, Hungarian goulash, chicken paprika, German spaetzel, cabbage rolls, sandwiches, salads, and burgers (they even have a Croatian burger). The menu reflects the cultural diversity of the owners. I usually dine here for breakfast. My favorite breakfast items are the crepes (I like the sweet ones), the good ole American breakfast, and the crab cake crepe benedict. They make fresh homemade whipped cream that is served on the sweet crepes. They even offer gluten free crepes. The crab cakes are delicious. They crepes are darn yummy. The hollandaise sauce is tasty. It's smooth and pairs well with the crab cakes and crepes. I do have to mention that the bacon here is cooked to a well done crispness. Hubs luvs the way they cook it. I prefer it a tad less done. Since this restaurant is a small cafe, the wait times for a table can be long and the food may take awhile to be served. But not outrageously so. Plus, they do a good job to make sure that each table has everyone's food come out relatively at the same time.

If you know Paprikash, goulash and spretzle (as written on their menu), this is the place for you. Lots of crepes, Benedicts, omelettes and other menu items to choose from. Owner ALMA was our sweet server and spoke to me like a loving aunty. In and outdoor seating. Patio seating is filled with a hodgepodge of quaint decorations. Lot of items to look at. Right off the highway. Pleasant stop!

We were greeted as soon as we walked into the restaurant and seated right away. I loved the decor! The owner and staff are absolutely fantastic. Our food was delicious. Don't be afraid to ask for a combination of meals from the menu. I wanted the chunky monkey pancakes but with an egg. They let me get the special and made me two small pancakes. It was perfect. My husband loves the portions because it is not so much that you either waste food or over eat! Cost was reasonable considering we had two breakfast, OJ and a cappuccino. $40

So we were driving by and spotted this place. Small place but full of wonderful decor and ambiance. We were greeted at the door and quickly sat in the side room. They have a vast menu of crepes and other wonderful foods of all types. Menu said Crepe town cafe. All food is made fresh so it takes a bit to get but well worth it. Hubby had the biscuits and gravy with Italian sausage. I had the all American (bacon and eggs). Excellent food and wonderful staff. My compliments to all. If you are ever looking for a place to eat and are in Shingle Springs, stop by!

Small out of the way restaurant with a very home style feel, great staff and wow were they busy. I had the biscuits and gravy with Italian sausage. It's totally worth the upcharge to add the sausage. It was great. The gravy was awesome! Not your typical diner "paste" that I usually expect. My compliments to the chef! My wife had the all-American breakfast with a cup of fruit and ate everything. She normally doesn't ever finish everything, so it says a lot. Staff here was great. There is a coupon that pops up for this business that is apparently from a prior owner. They let me know it wasn't theirs but did give us a discount anyway, so we made up for it with a better tip than usual. Next time we are out, this will definitely stop by again.

While looking for something different and looking for additional places to eat in the area, we looked at Yelp and decided to try this place based on the reviews. Let me start with the positive. The service provided is out of this world awesome! Very kind and sweet ladies serving! Awesome! Now for the food. The food is just average compared to others or compared to my favorites (Mario's early toast or Rey Mimosa). The French toast was more moist and soft and ok on flavor. The eggs, bacon, and hash browns were ok. The coffee was ok as well. The ambiance is small hometown family diner. Perhaps I need to go back to try the lunch or something else. The biscuits and gravy my guest had was good and the gravy had good overall flavoring. A lot of this rating is more on the great customer service and biscuits and gravy. The rest was average.

Sunday, 10/15/2013 - We were in the Shingle Springs area and decided to try CT European Cafe & Grill for lunch. Address is 4064 Mother Lode Dr, Shingle Springs, CA 95682. They are open 8am to 3pm. Located close to HWY 50E. Parking in the front is small. But when we arrived, there were plenty of parking spots. Restaurant was very quiet. I only saw 3 people working. Upon arrival.... Pros: 1) they have seating inside and outside restaurant. 2) there is alcohol, sodas, coffee, water if you want to drink. 3) water tasted good. No metal or funky taste. 4) table, chairs, utensils, plates, cups all looked clean. 5) the lady who took our orders was the same person who served us and cleaned the table. She's very nice. Her mom worked there too and she is just as sweet. 6) Foods were all delicious!!! Biscuits were nice and soft, gravy perfect, & eggs cooked perfectly over-medium. Crab cake Benedict was delicious! Crab cake actually is crabby and yummy! Eggs perfect, hollandaise sauce perfect. I had it with crepe and it was good. Hashbrown were perfectly cooked! Crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Kids chicken alfredo was good. Fettuccine Alfredo was $11.00 & we added chicken for $4.00 for our little one. Chicken was juicy and the alfredo itself was great. Nutella crepe is $11.00 and we added strawberry to it for $2.00. 7) bathroom clean. Cons 1) we sat in the outside patio. I think they may have forgotten we were out there. Cus we sat out there for quite some time. I had to let the mother know we were ready to order and was wondering when someone will come help us. Lol. She went and got her daughter. 2) Conclusion We are really glad we found this restaurant. It was pretty good. Staffs were very friendly and professional. Restaurant was clean.
